PhD Opportunity in Plant Transcriptomics and Bioinformatics

Université de Montréal, Department of biological science

A PhD project is available immediately at the Université de Montréal in the department of biological sciences. The position is available to study plant transcriptomics via deep RNA sequencing in a phytoremediation context. The objective of the project is to find candidate plant genes potentially involved in the degradation or accumulation of organic and inorganic pollutants.

Requirements:
- M.sc. in a relevant field obtained;
- Proven research experience ;
- High writing skills;
- Solid analytical, computing, and statistical skills.

A scholarship of 20 000$/year is offered. The preferred starting date is September 2017, but strong candidates who expect to be available in January 2018 are encouraged to apply.
