Welcome to the Education Hub of the Canadian Society of Plant Biologists! Here, we share upcoming events, opportunities, and resources to support plant biology education in Canada. Whether you're looking to connect with fellow educators, explore past workshops and materials, or stay informed about new initiatives, this is your space to grow and collaborate. Join us in building a vibrant community dedicated to advancing plant science education!
We welcome feedback from our members! You can send comments or questions to the Education Director of the CSPB-SCBV at education@cspb-scbv.ca

1. PROMOTE TEACHING EXCELLENCE: Provide access to high quality resources and training to promote teaching excellence of our members. (e.g. organize workshops, teaching events at conferences, share teaching resources, foster a teaching community).
2. RECOGNIZE EDUCATION CONTRIBUTIONS: Create opportunities for members to contribute to education initiatives, and documentation of this work. (e.g. opportunities to present at conferences, publish in the Society bulletin, share education resources with the Society)
3. ADVOCATE FOR PLANT BIOLOGY EDUCATION: Evaluate and strengthen plant biology education in Canadian higher education, and plant knowledge and appreciation in Canadian society more broadly. (e.g. foster communication across institutions, contribute high quality education resources for teaching and outreach)
1. PLANTS: As a Plant Biology Society we focus on plant-specific educational content and contexts. However we recognize that many members of the Society do not teach plant biology specifically, so we include broader content topics of interest to our members.
2. CANADIAN CONTEXT: As a Canadian Society we feel it’s important to prioritize Canadian-specific educational materials and content. For example, focusing on native Canadian plants, species of special importance in Canada, or materials developed by Canadians. These resources are important for education in a Canadian context, but are often harder to find and identify. We will go out of our way to find Canadian information, though we won't exclude other helpful materials.
3. MEMBER NEEDS: We strive to be responsive the needs of all members of our Society. We actively encourage feedback and involvement of the community, and suggestions on how we can better work toward our goals.
